The Model SC-102 was introduced in 1955 as a scintillation counter. It was designed for mineral and oil surveying. It was described as a super sensitive instrument for uranium prospecting assays of ore samples in the field. Probe may be lowered into drill hole. It has the ability to respond to oil deposits by indicating special radiation characteristics surrounding such formations. It is shock mounted, rugged, and waterproof. The meter is hermetically sealed and has a separate background suppression circuit. It could be used in airplanes at speeds of 175 mph and heights of 300 feet. The sensitivities were 0.003, 0.01, 0.03, 0.1, 0.3 and 1 mR/h.
