The Electronic Instruments Company (EICO) Model 803 kit sold for $19.95 in 1955. The unit also came as a fully assemble kit for $29.95. It was designed for searching for uranium ore. It was small 7” x 4.5” x 2.25” and weighed about 3 lbs. It had two internal GM glass tubes. A flashing neon light and earphones were used to locate deposits. It was powered by two 67.5 and two 1.5 volt flashlight type batteries. Battery life was 200 hours in normal use. The kit cames with a small metal slug radiation source and full instructions.
