It is completely transistorized with a bismuth tube. A self-contained 20 oz. model has a life of 2500 hours with four pencil batteries. A simple pull trigger-switch automatically recalibrates the instrument so that the reading give direct percentage uranium oxide. The unit sold for $179.50 in 1956.
